Utah Set to Become the Next Arizona?

The leaking of a list of 1300 names of purported “illegal immigrants” by a vigilante group in Utah comes right when Utah is considering legislation similar to the controversial SB 1070 recently passed in Arizona. Here’s a local news segment about the effect the list may have on the proposed law:

It’s nice to see that most people, even if they are for strict immigration controls, do realize this is not the way to go about things. But it’s frustrating that while this segment gave voice to conservatives who are for immigration restriction, and to the wing nut Minutemen guy, they didn’t bother to talk to anyone who is actively opposing this legislation. They refer several times in this segment to the immigration “debate” yet only talk with one side of that debate. So much for balance.

  1. I agree completely with you, the funny thing is seeing how they worry over working inmigrants but the terrorists get citizenship in a snap…!!

  2. Montana

Utah Welfare list? I thought the majority in AZ, NM, TX, NV, UT, CO, OK, on Welfare, are old school Mormons who still practice polygamy with underage girls and send these girls in to get a check. You should see some of the palace homes that are paid with welfare checks.
